Hey! I suppose you know my name is Manila by now, and I also suppose you’d like to know a bit more. (Reading minds is one of my many talents.)
What is your design philosophy?
I believe function and beauty go hand in hand. Any design without both is ineffective and inefficient, wouldn't you say? When I design, I try to find a happy balance between looking at the big picture and fussing over the miniscule details.
To me, great design is calm and welcoming. I know...super vague, but what I mean is that good design kind of just goes unnoticed while poor design is jarring. As for welcoming design, what I mean is the consumer feels comfortable, knowing they are in the right place, because they have a personal connection with the design whether or not they consciously know why they do.
What is your story?
I studied interior architecture at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville where I did a bit of a focus on graphic design. I then moved on to work in the field for a hot minute before deciding to venture out on my own. I've always loved collaborating with creative professionals, and I still love design and all the technical stuff that goes along with it.
Now, I leverage my design background in order to help creative businesses convey the personality of their work to future prospects, so they can focus on actually working with their current clientele.
Aside from all that work stuff, I also spend a lot of time learning, coding, holding books, lifting heavy objects and smelling babies (when I can find one). Also, my life revolves around food. That is not an exaggeration. I will be happy to leverage my experience eating to tell you what I'm craving at the moment.
What will it be like working with you?
I'm extremely detailed and thorough in my communications, which definitely isn't for everyone. I just like to provide you with as much information as I can in order to cover any questions you may have. I love lists, and I will often communicate to you with a list if there is a lot of info to cover. You are warned.
I will always try to send you information through the most effective means. It just depends on the project, but I'm always looking into using new technologies that make it easy for my clients.
Who do you work with?
I work with creative businesses that truly care about their work and their clients (seems totally broad, but really, not everyone does). I'm open to talking to anyone as long as we jive and have a mutual respect. It's always a collaborative effort.
How can you help me?
I understand how difficult it is to objectively look at your own stuff, and I also know that a lot of the designwork for your personal visuals get pushed to the side when you have clients to take care of. Not only do you need a consistently-updated website, you often also need updated blogs and social media in order to keep up with the current demands of the digital age all while attempting to convey a consistent message across the board that reflects the personality of your brand.
I don't blame you if you think it's all a bit much on top of doing the actual clientwork. It's extremely time-consuming and seems totally daunting. It's also virtually impossible to do it all without compromising on quality. Luckily, that's exactly what I do, so I'd love to help make your business a little bit easier to manage.
Got more questions I didn't answer? Don't hesitate to drop me a line or even multiple lines at email@example.com for more info. I always try to respond within 1-2 business days.
Already dig my vibe? Feel free to go ahead and book a discovery call with me (calls tend to be about 15 min) where you tell me what your needs are, so we can talk more specifically about how I might be able to help you.
